The enemy loves to make us feel worthless. As if no matter how hard we try, the hard work, the apologies and the times we even get it right will never be good enough. How do we know this is a part of the strategic plan of the enemy to kill, steal and destroy? We know because no matter what side of the train track we happen to be on, the feelings are the same. Whether you are someone who got your heartbroken or the person who broke someone’s heart the feeling of being worthless is on both sides. The best cure for this is truth. After all, the truth sets us free, but only when we understand the truth. So here it is… it is not the responsibility of the one who broke your heart to fix your heart. It is not even your responsibility to fix your broken heart. The only one who can fix what is broken is God. He will heal your heart, not the one who broke it. When we drop our phones and crack the screen and it breaks, we immediately take it to get fixed. Why? We have no way to fix it. We have to give it to a professional, or better yet the manufacturer to fix it. If it just so happens to be cracked bad enough to where the phone is malfunctioning, we get it replaced, brand new like it never happened. Similar to how God, our manufacturer treats our heart when it becomes broken, chipped, or fractured and barely beating. The truth is, there is not a text message, an apology or a vengeful act that can heal your heart and make you feel worthy of love again. There is not an apology, a gift, or words said to someone that can even make a heart-breaker feel better about the situation and themselves in the long run. No good deed will be good enough. However, the love and forgiveness they receive from Christ is what will ultimately change their behavior and cause them to know they are not worthless for having a hand in breaking a heart. The truth on both sides is we are human. We have the ability to become broken and posses the ability to break others, but we do not have to stay in those places. Forgive them, forgive yourself and let God heal what the enemy calls worthless.
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things
