There are many ways to say it, but simply said"what you put into something is what you get out". The same goes for our heart. What we feed our heart is what will eventually come out of it. From what we watch, to what music we listen to and even the stories that our friends tell us; our hearts are fed from the experiences and everyday tools that surround us. If we are feeling or having sexual desires, then they may be stemming from our heart intake. Of course, we are human and will have these desires, but we may be feeding them by certain actions. This journey of purity allows us the chance to feed our heart with nutrients that will improve our life. From reading our Bible, to listening to better music and paying attention to the shows we watch. What we feed our heart will come out of it. If on this journey, then our desire is to be closer to God and improve our life while preparing for a family in the future. Many times, God has taken our broken, fragile hearts and healed them or delivered us from relationships or lifestyles that were not good for us. Now we have to fill our hearts with God's love. To fill our heart with more of HIS word and more of HIS love. If we have a bill due for $95 and only have $75, then we don’t have enough to pay the bill. In fact, that bill is going to drain our account and leave it in a deficit. The same goes for our heart, if we do not put enough of God’s spirit into our heart by reading and studying HIS word, or listening to it and playing worship music then we will not have enough when we need it. So instead of waking up and having a random song play in our head that will do us no good or will put us back in a state that God just removed us from we can actually have the opposite, if we put more God into our life. More of God means we will be able to combat the thoughts and desires that we have. If we are full of God, it leaves little room for anything else that will negatively affect our purity. Does that mean we just shut the world out completely?? No. it means that we do not give the world so much attention that it is the only thing that comes out of our hearts. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23
How do you do this? Like seriously? In this day and age the option to wait until married is not only unpopular. but seems impossible. That is exactly what I thought after trying to live this lifestyle and failing. I literally had to retrace my steps and figure out how I kept making the same relational mistakes. Not choosing the right person, putting them before me, allowing myself to be someone else, or just going with the flow and listening to what everyone else said, and not what I knew God called me, and called all of us to do, to wait. One day I took a risk and that was how "Purity Points" was created. I realized that there were Spiritual Christian principles, Logical and practical choices we can make to be successful in this lifestyle. I was making it harder than it had to be and that is why this lifestyle can be seen as "Impossible" or "outdated". So I welcome you to Purity Points where the spiritual, logical and practicals tools are given so that you can have the best life that you were created to have!!
